— Call for art: The Kentucky Watercolor Society is accepting entries for its Aqueous USA Show. Visit kentuckywatercolorsociety.org for more information.

— Architectural historian Steve Wiser is presenting four lectures on “Historic Houses of Louisville.” The first lecture, on Thursday, May 7 from 6-7:30 p.m., features the architectural styles and genealogy of residential designs as well as a discussion of the designers who created the structures. The series will be held at the Conrad Caldwell House, 1402 St. James Court. Seating is limited and RSVPs are required by calling 502-636-5023. An individual lecture is $10, series for $25. The dates for the rest of the series are May 21, June 11 and June 25.

— The Oldham County History Center is hosting its latest Archaeology Investigation of the Gatewood Plantation on Sunday, May 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free, but reservations are required. — Reminder: Call for artists: NuLu Art 16 is a public art installation sponsored by the NuLu Business Association. They are seeking artists to submit qualifications. Details are on nulu.org/nulu-art-16. Deadline: May 11.

— Reminder: Call for artists: The Mary Alice Hadley Prize for Visual Art is seeking applications for the monetary prize designed to help an artist with their professional ambitions. The $5,000 prize will be awarded in June. Details on louisvillevisualart.org/hadley. Deadline: May 15.
