This holiday season, you can buy from small businesses in Louisville without leaving the house, thanks to a relaunched web platform.
Shop Local Lou, a website where local retailers can sell their products, relaunched this morning (just in time for Cyber Monday) after a successful debut in 2020.
Participating local businesses include Southern Rustics, Moss Hill Bath & Body Collection, Kentucky Made & More, and Matamart Africa Missions, amongst others.
Although the platform was launched in anticipation of the upcoming holiday shopping season, Shop Local Lou will operate year-round. More retailers are expected to list products on the platform in the coming weeks.
Mayor Greg Fischer announced the relaunch this morning at Just Creations, a local fair trade store that is also represented on the website.
When you shop at a local business, you are not just helping that one business; you are impacting our community by keeping those dollars here locally and supporting local jobs, he said. We must support our local entrepreneurs, so they can continue offering the wonderful goods Louisville loves.
