From April 4th to April 6th this weekend, the Louisville Ballet will be presenting their production of the beloved classic, Cinderella. The performance will take place inside The Kentucky Performing Arts Center’s Whitney Hall, featuring gorgeous sets, a remarkably lush score, and the brilliant choreography of the late Alun Jones.
Alun Jones, the Louisville Ballet’s former Artistic Director, was inspired by Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, which premiered on December 23rd, 1948, by Sadler’s Wells Ballet (later The Royal Ballet). Cinderella is set to the beautiful music of Sergei Prokofiev and features such familiar characters as the prince, the fairy godmother, the comedic stepsisters, and of course, Cinderella herself. This weekend is bound to provide an unforgettable experience for young ballet newcomers and longtime patrons alike.
Tickets for Cinderella are now available and can be purchased through Louisville Ballet or by calling the Ballet Box Office at 502-583-2623.
