As the summer months quickly make their way upon us, you may want to get outside to enjoy the fresh air. But don’t forget about your furry pals who may have been cooped up during the cooler time of the year.

It’s time to get outside, and what better way to get some vitamin D than to hit the dog park for fun with your dogs.

Here are some of the best Louisville dog parks to take your dog to this summer.

Morton Avenue Dog Park 1548 Morton Ave, Louisville, KY7 a.m. – 9 p.m. This dog park offers an array of fun for your dogs out in an open space on Morton Avenue. It is closed in, so you are free to take your dog off their leash to run around and meet some new friends. MapQuest
Tom Sawyer Dog Park 3109 Freys Hill Rd, Louisville, KYOpen all day. Morton Avenue Dog Park gives access to dogs and owners through an open-space area to meet new furry friends. The gazebo that lives at the heart of the park is a great resting place for you and your dog. mando_aussie
Highland Dog Park 1300 Spruce Dr, Jeffersonville, IN8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Across the river from Louisville lives a few dog parks that are noteworthy for their open space and fun courses for pups. Highland Dog Park is fenced in, so going off-leash is acceptable and encouraged so that your dog can socialize and have fun too. Lisa Leclaire
Champions Dog Run (Members Only) 2700 River Rd, Louisville, KY6 a.m. – 11 p.m. The first of a few members-only dog parks on this list. Champions Dog Run has beautiful, well-kempt spaces for dog lovers to enjoy while their furry friends bond with other dogs at the park. Christina O.
PG&J’s Dog Park Bar 800 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY12 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sundays and Closed Mondays. This dog park is much smaller than the others, but it connects to a fun bar where dog owners can hang out together and talk about their fuzzy family members. The Barklands Beckley Creek Pkwy, Louisville, KYOpen all day.The Barklands has an enclosed, spacious roaming area for dogs to take in all the smells of the outside. Don’t forget to read the rules listed at the front of the gate before entering. The Barklands
Club K9 Dog Park Bar 9316 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. – 10 p.m. Saturdays and 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sundays. Another social spot on this list, Club K9 Dog Park Bar is a dual-purpose area where dogs and dog owners can have their own fun. Vettiner Dog Park (Members Only) Somer Rd, Louisville, KY6 a.m. – 12 a.m. This two-acre park is fully-fenced, allowing for dogs to be off-leash and have a great time outdoors with other dogs. You will need an official Louisville Dog Run Association Dog Park Permit to enter, however. So make sure you have one before heading over to this location. Chadwick Collins
Old Louisville Dog Run (Members Only) 1215 S Brook St, Louisville, KYOpen all day. This two-acre park is also a members-only park which will require a permit. At the heart of Old Louisville, you can bring your pet to this park while taking in the rich culture of Old Louisville. Michael Bush
Peggy E. Baker Park Dog Run 6887 Rte 2858, Crestwood, KY7 a.m. – 10 p.m. This Dog Run is connected to the Peggy Baker Park where you could also bring your kids to play while your dog runs around to meet new friends of all kinds. Cochran Hill Dog Run (Members Only) 740 Cochran Hill Rd, Louisville, KYOpen all day.This dog-friendly and members-only park in Louisville is set in Cherokee Park. The fully-fenced dog park features baggies for cleanup and water for dogs as well. Jacquelene Steele
