The New Hotel Genevieve is open in NULU and it is giving us serious stay-cation envy. The great thing about hotels opening in the city is more than just the increase in potential tourism as locals, we love a great place to grab a nice cocktail or host an event.
Hotel Genevieve, which challenges visitors to “Go Boldly Into The Bluegrass,” is new to Louisville via Austin, Texas-based Bunkhouse Hotels group. The inspiration for the French-inspired hotel comes from the patron saint of Paris, Saint Genevieve, and celebrates the French origins of Louisville. There are 122 rooms spread across 6 levels, a lobby art gallery, retail shop, and four culinary concepts that were all created by Chef Ashleigh Shanti, a top 6 finalist on Top Chef: Houston. The food will be bringing French dining together with Southern and Appalachian flavors. There will be a rooftop bar serving a twist on French street food with a Mediterranean slant, Mini Marché, a mini-market inspired by Pop art, and Lucky Penny, which will be a late-night speakeasy. We’re fans of that.
