The Louisville Book Festival is back with names as big as ever including Mychal Threets, AKA “America’s Librarian.” The festival takes place Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center, promising a jam-packed day of author talks, exhibits and literary fun for all ages.

Mychal Threets, the adored PBS Resident Librarian and the recently announced Reading Rainbow anchor, will be the main attraction. Threets, who is well-known for his contagious happiness and support of mental health via reading, has gained widespread popularity as a reminder that “mental health can’t wait.”

The festival will also feature a diverse lineup of special guests, including:

  • Áine Cain, co-host of the Murder Sheet Podcast
  • Kevin Greenlee, the other half of the Murder Sheet Podcast
  • Brittany J. Thurman, children’s author
  • Willie Edward Taylor Carver Jr., educator and writer

Whether you’re a true-crime buff, a kid’s literature fan or someone just trying to find your next favorite book, the Louisville Book Festival has something for every reader with over 150 authors, presenters, exhibitors, and characters taking part.

The event is free and open to the public. Visit louisvillebookfestival.com to find out more.
