A woman is released from prison after serving 16 years for the murder of her father. A New York City councilwoman and a corporate attorney are faced with the repercussions of their involvement in the crime. At stake is the intersection of race, class, and the criminal justice system.

This is the plot of the movie “What We Do Next,” which was shot in Louisville. Members of the crew will host a Q&A screening of the movie this  Friday, March 3, at 7:15 p.m. at Baxter Avenue Theatres (1250 Bardstown Rd.)

On hand to discuss the film will be Geoff Storts (1st assistant camera), Derek Sepe (sound mixer), Leslie Humphrey (hair and makeup), and Jared Hardy (data wrangler and trailer editor).

Though they won’t be participating in the Q&A, the lead actors in “What We Do Next” include Corey Stoll (“Billions,” “House of Cards”), Karen Pittman (“The Morning Show,” “And Just Like That…”), and Michelle Veintimilla (“Gotham,” “Seven Seconds”).

Tickets for the showing are $8.50-$11 and are available now at wwdnmovie.com or in person at the theater.
