Misbehaving children beware at The Haunted Hotel's Curse of Krampus.

The Haunted Hotel is ready for a frightfully good holiday weekend. Are you?

On Friday and Saturday this weekend from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., The Haunted Hotel in South Louisville (3000 S. 4th St.) will be hosting a special holiday scare attraction, The Curse of Krampus.

Basically, it’s a Christmas-themed haunted house. The usual holiday trimmings are already up around the hotel –– lights, wreaths, presents, and such –– with one killer difference: the devilish creature Krampus himself.

The event will also feature “Santa’s Murderous Chainsaw,” “Jack’d Up Frost,” “Insane Gingerbread Man,” and “Man Eating Elves,” according to the event listing.

Krampus is a mythological creature who scares misbehaving children around Christmastime. He’s half man, half goat –– much like the Goat Man who supposedly lives under the railroad bridge at Pope Lick Park.

Check out the event page on Facebook for more info, or buy your tickets at this link. As is the case at the Haunted Hotel in its regular season, these tickets are $25 for general admission, $40 for a fast pass, $60 for front of the line access.

If that’s not enough Krampus for you, try the Krampus Holiday Art Bazaar at Art Sanctuary this Sunday, Dec. 5 –– the actual “official” Krampus Day, the day before the feast day of St. Nicholas. The annual event, put on by the Louisville Gore Club, is a fundraiser art show with food, movies, vendors, costumes, and live performances by local bands Isolation Tank Ensemble and Prayer Line.
