Butcher Cabin Books is hitting its third anniversary with serious plans for fans. But also there’s plenty to attract even the most tentative of the horror-curious to this specialty bookstore.

The clever theme of the September 20-21 event is “the Pearl anniversary.” The gemstone that is traditional for choice of third-year anniversary gifts just happens to coincide with the title and character name for a recent film hit that inspired Butcher Cabin’s Jenny Kiefer (“a fun horror movie we love!”)

Step into the store and you’re likely to see images of actress Mia Goth at her most yearning and homicidal—but stick around for some custom bookstore merch for the occasion.  Also, members (including new ones) of the store’s frequent-reader program will get bonus credits toward future discounts.

And on Saturday afternoon (at 2 PM) there’ll be a pair of author reading/signings: RJ Roles and Tony Evans.

This is a perfect time to visit, with Halloween lurking just around the calendar corner. Butcher Cabin is at 990 Barret Ave, and the store is open 11 to 6 both days of their anniversary weekend.—T.E. Lyons
