Poets take the stage at the Bomhard Theater during the 10th annual Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam. Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam
This June, one of Louisville’s most acclaimed arts events marks a major milestone. The 2025 Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam: 10th Anniversary Celebration takes center stage Friday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kentucky Center’s Bomhard Theater. Presented by Kentucky Performing Arts and Rheonna Nicole, this all-female poetry slam amplifies the voices of women from across the nation.
Free and open to the public (no ticket required), this year’s Lipstick Wars promises an evening of powerful performances, community celebration, and cultural empowerment. Known for its wordplay and emotional honesty, the event will also feature a special performance from international spoken word artist Tripp Fontane, whose storytelling brings an exciting new energy to the lineup.
Will Wilhelm and Emily Tarquin talk Shakespeare, language, and queerness.
The evening will be a full-on celebration, with food, drinks, and music creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to the scene, this is a can’t-miss moment in Louisville’s arts calendar.
