Well, Louisville, it’s official. We’re snowed in and stuck at home—might as well make the most of it and hit the sledding slopes!
Louisville Parks and Recreation has identified five designated sledding hills across its parks that open during daylight hours whenever snow accumulation reaches 2–3 inches. These hills are carefully chosen to ensure fun and safety, but park-goers should follow a few guidelines to protect the parks and themselves.
Avoid sledding on hills without adequate snow coverage—if grass blades are visible, it’s a no-go. Sledding on insufficient snow damages the turf, leading to costly spring repairs. And remember, golf courses are off-limits for sledding to protect fairways and greens!
