Louisville native and writer April Raque is returning to town to debut her first book, GEN-X, The Adult Era: Designing a Life of Wellness (On Our Own, As Usual). The celebration to kick things off will be on Saturday, October 11, at noon at the Mayan Café.

Raque, who once worked in local food marketing and helped found the Forecastle Foundation, left Louisville in 2010 after career burnout and a health crisis pushed her toward a new chapter in Naples, Florida. Her book is a mix of personal stories and wellness tips for people her age, Gen-X.

Raque will talk with Anne Shadle, co-owner of Mayan Café at the event. People who go can buy copies of the book and have the author autograph them.
