Greatness in indie rock is about to hit Louisville’s music scene. Celebrated band Destroyer, described as an “indie rock institution” by The Wall Street Journal, will play at The Whirling Tiger on Tuesday, October 1, as part of their first U.S. tour in three years.

Pitchfork, Paste, and other critics praised their 14th studio album, Dan’s Boogie, which was released earlier this year on Merge Records. The run supports that album. Fans have been yearning for the full Destroyer live experience, as frontman Dan Bejar leads a full seven-piece lineup.

Canadian singer-songwriter Jennifer Castle opens the evening, laying the groundwork for a musical extravaganza. Fresh from honing their sound across Europe, Destroyer is primed to bring Louisville a show that blends sharp lyricism, sprawling arrangements, and the distinctive artistry that’s made them a cornerstone of the indie world.

Where: The Whirling Tiger, Louisville, KY

When: Tuesday, October 1, 2025 Jennifer Castle is a special guest.
