New Voices Young Playwrights Festival
Actors Theatre 7 p.m. Every year, Actor’s Education and the Apprentice/Intern Company choose eight 10-minute plays written by students from around the region, and you can see all of them at Actors Theatre from April 25-26. Plays include “The Devil in Little Debbie,” “The Lie Mission” and more.

Exit Glaciers, The Big Quiet, High Burden
New Vintage 8 p.m., 21+ If you aren’t ready to let go of the weekend just yet, head to New Vintage for a free concert with the folk/pop project Exit Glaciers, a progressive rock/pop band with a modern jazz background The Big Quiet and the Louisville natives High Burden.
Bourbon, Beer and Board Games
Kaiju (bar) 8 p.m. In addition to your usual routine of drinking bourbon and beer at Kaiju (bar) on Mondays, this time around Highlands Book & Music Exchange is bringing around a kaiju-sized stack of board games for everyone. This week’s board game theme is building, and games include “Evolution,” “Suburbia,” “7 Wonders” and more.

Vinyl Night  Haymarket Whiskey Bar  8 p.m. Bring a record, pick a side, sign up and the bar will play it over the speakers. A simple and effective concept, and a great way to find and share music, and have great conversations.

Tuesday

Immortal Bird, Pyrrhon, Cryptic Hymn
Highlands Tap Room 10 p.m., 21+ For all of you out there who are tired of acoustic guitars and synth pop in your bars, Highlands Tap Room has what your black heart needs. A night of death metal with Immortal Bird, Pyrrhon and Louisville’s own Cryptic Hymn, presented by Keep Louisville Loud.

Wednesday

Anime Movie Night
Kaiju (bar) 8 p.m. If you’ve never seen “Cowboy Bebop” or “Ghost in The Shell” you need to head over to Kaiju (bar) and check them out on their giant silver screen. These two animes are high-marks of the genre, and “Cowboy Bebop” also happen to have the greatest intro/theme song ever in “Tank!” by The Seatbelts. There will also be free popcorn.

Thursday

Wave 3 presents Southern Sirens
KFC Yum! Center 11:30 p.m. On your lunch break this Thursday head to the KFC Yum! Center for a free concert by the Southern Sirens, sponsored by Wave 3. There will also be anl Earth Day giveaway of White Pine and Colorado Blue Spruce tree saplings to the first 100 people who arrive.

Friday

‘The Favorites’ by Twiggy Revelry Boutique Gallery 7-10 p.m Time to kick off Derby season with Louisville-centric art from the stylish and fabulous Twiggy (aka Carla Terwilleger!) With her bright new show, ‘The Favorites,’ Twiggy spotlights some of Louisville’s best including Derby, bourbon, haute fashion, beautiful women and libations. Twiggy’s fascinating and curvy divas command the canvas with color, style and plenty of attitude. Twiggy’s stunning paintings start as doodles on cocktail napkins, which seems the proper way to start her glamour.
