Louisville BrewFest
Louisville Slugger Field
$5  |  4 p.m. BrewFest, a Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) event, is a chance for everyone to taste the beers from nearly all of the local breweries and wineries, as well as a few specialty brews specifically for this event. There will also be food from local restaurants, and prices are pretty cheap with drink/food tickets only $1 each (samples are one ticket each, and full pours are four tickets).

SATURDAY

NuLu Fest
700-900 blocks of E. Market St.
Free  |  11 a.m. With all of the dining, art and places to party in NuLu, you might have planned to be there this weekend anyway. Good plan. This weekend, the fun spills onto Market Street, with plenty of microbrewed beers, food trucks, local vendors and live music by local artists at this massive block.

Downs After Dark
Churchill Downs
$10-$69  |  5 p.m. Downs after Dark combines gambling on horses that have silly names with what you would typically think of as nightlife. There will also be lots of bourbon cocktails and bourbon-inspired food by Red Top Gourmet Hot Dogs, 502 Café, Pollo and Boss Hog’s BBQ food trucks. Live music will be provided by Ben Sollee and Linkin’ Bridge.

VindaLou – India Day
The Belvedere
Free  |  Noon Kentucky’s Indian community has a lot to offer, and this weekend they will put it all on display for VindaLou. There will be live music and dancing (both traditional and Bollywood style), yoga, sporting events including Kabaddi, henna tattoos, Indian clothing and jewelry and plenty of Indian culinary delights by the best Indian restaurants in the city (and region). It’s a chance to take a quick trip around the world without ever leaving the city.

Irish Fest (Sept. 24-25) Bellarmine University $8  |  11 a.m. This weekend, celebrate Irish culture (or your Irish roots) at this two-day festival complete with traditional Irish food and beverages, song and dance, shopping, activities and live music by over a dozen bands including Dallahan, a band direct from Scotland. The Irish Fest is also the premier fundraising event for the Irish Arts Foundation of Kentucky.
