5 Things To Do In Louisville This Weekend (5/20–5/22)

FRIDAY, May 20

Poorcastle Festival Breslin Park $15-$30  |  1-11 p.m. Poorcastle is back after two years lost to the pandemic, and it will have more experiences and just as much local talent as it always has (36 performers, in fact.) The lineup features a predictably talented group of Louisville musicians that runs across several genres. This three-day festival starts on Friday and ends on Sunday.

SATURDAY, May 21

MindFest Roots 101 African American Museum Free  |  10 a.m.-6 p.m. MindFest is a new Louisville festival dedicated to mental health awareness. Expect music, food, entertainment, art, yoga and panel discussions from mental health experts and advocates.

Springfest Toonerville Trolley Park Free  |  10 a.m.-7 p.m. Springfest is actually happening in spring this year! (Last year because of the pandemic, it was postponed to September). Head to Old Louisville for vendors of handmade goods, food trucks, live music and performances from the Louisville Turners Circus.

Forest Fest Horine Reservation, Jefferson Memorial Forest Free admission, $10 parking  |  Noon-7 p.m. Get back to the roots of American music in a place full of literal roots. This one-day bluegrass music festival will also have crafts, food vendors, jam sessions and a play area for kids. 

SUNDAY, May 22

Harry Potter Film Series Kentucky Science Center $10, nonmembers; $5 members  |  1 p.m. The Science Center is showing the Harry Potter movies in order on its four-story screen every weekend through June. Unfortunately, you’ve already missed the first two movies. But the third, “The Prisoner of Azkaban,” is on this weekend’s schedule.
