Thunder Over Louisville Prices and times vary Derby season couldnt start without the gigantic spectacle that is Thunder. Tomorrows fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.; the airshow will start at 3 p.m. The biggest party is, of course, hosted downtown and on the waterfront. If thats not your thing, though, here are more than a dozen other Thunder parties that weve rounded up for you.

Garden, Lawn, & Plant Swap Wyandotte Park Free | 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Garden experts and amateurs alike can trade any and all kinds of gardening supplies and take home new ones at this completely free event, where nothing will be bought or sold. (Unbe-leaf-able!) Going by the Swaps list of items that have been exchanged at previous events, you might walk away with seed packets, wheelbarrows, bulbs, tools, or garden fencing, amongst other possibilities.
SUNDAY, April 24
Louisville Turners Presents: Stranded Louisville Turners $12.50 adults, $7.50 children | 2 p.m. When two local teenagers wash up on a tropical island in the middle of the Ohio River, they meet the islands native creatures, who perform all sorts of circus stunts: unicycling, fire eating, stilt walking, trampolining and more. Night Club History of Louisville 1436 Bardstown Road (There may be a small charge if seating is low.) | 2 p.m. Learn more about local music venues and some of the famous musicians who have graced them at this event for Louisville Historical League members and guests.
