FRIDAY

The Living Library  Main Library Free; 5:30 p.m. You can learn a lot from reading, but some things are better said out loud. Which is why Louisville Free Public Library is hosting its Living Library event at the Main Library downtown. People can interact with “living books” — people — and hear their stories first hand. Telling stories will be a Harlem Globetrotter, a human trafficking activist, a stem cell researcher, an Iranian-born woman talking about Islam and many more. It’s a chance to not only learn from others, but also to break down barriers. —Ethan Smith

What Happened, Miss Simone?  Muhammad Ali Center RSVP for free entry; 6 p.m. The Academy Award-nominated documentary traces the career of singer-songwriter great Nina Simone with previously unreleased archival footage and interviews with her daughters and friends.—Scott Recker

SATURDAY

Garage Bar $45; 11 a.m., 21+ Garage Bar has partnered with Modern Louisville Magazine, Play and the Derby City Sisters for a brunch extravaganza where you can eat like a king and meet Louisville’s drag queens RevaDeveraux, Savana Lynn and Joshua Cain Crow. You also get free admission to Play later that night, and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Kentuckiana AIDS Alliance.—Ethan Smith

Free Guided Night Hike
Jefferson Memorial Forest Free; 8 p.m. If you are looking to add a little spice to your hiking life, join one of Jefferson Memorial Forest’s volunteer naturalist for a guided night hike. Meet up with your hiking chums in the Paul Yost section of the forest for an easy-to-moderate hike of the 2.5 mile long Coral Ridge Loop. The trail will take you through the Upland Knobs and offers stunning views of downtown Louisville in all its sparkling glory. Red-covered flashlights are welcome, but no white lights (it upsets Slenderman). —Ethan Smith

SUNDAY

2nd Round of NCAA Women’s Tournament
KFC Yum! Center $20-$36; TBA The UofL men’s team may not be in the NCAA tourney this year, but the UofL women’s team is! They will be playing their first round game against Central Arkansas on Friday, and presuming they totally dominate them, they will be moving on to play the winner of the Depaul vs. James Madison game this Sunday. Not all is lost my fellow UofL fans, so show some much deserved support for this amazing team and make that home court advantage count! —Ethan Smith
