SATURDAY

September Art Fair Mellwood Art Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave. Free; 10 a.m. Louisville is a hub for talented artists, and this Saturday, about 160 of them will be gathering at the Mellwood Art Center. Buying original art will not only improve your living space, but it will also make it possible for the artists to do things like feed their families, pay their bills and make more art. It’s a win-win for everyone.—Ethan Smith

Zella Day  Zanzabar, 2100 S. Preston $12-$15; 8:30 p.m. With big, dark, layered and super sharp pop that’s stormy, thick, yet somehow ominously ethereal, the comparisons to Lana Del Rey are inevitable and aren’t all that off base. And that’s just fine, because it’s an uncrowded and really interesting corner of the spectrum. And, if you’ve heard Zella on record and wonder how it translates live, this performance on Conan should answer that question.—Scott Recker

Butchertown GetDown: “Drive” with Sam Sneed  Play Dance Bar, 1101 E. Washington St. Free with RSVP or $10; 9 p.m. Does the soundtrack to “Drive” make you want you want to hit the streets with a scorpion-embroidered satin jacket? Well, luckily for you, Play will be throwing a “Drive”-themed GetDown this Saturday, with Sam Sneed playing a music set inspired by the soundtrack while the movie is projected on the walls.—Ethan Smith

SUNDAY

Gaslight Festival  Jeffersontown Free; Noon Take a relaxing little road trip this Sunday to Jeffersontown and check out their annual Gaslight Festival. In addition to the usual festival trappings (fair food, food trucks, games, art, beer, good times), there will also be a motorcycle rally and car show for all you motorheads out there. At the very least, it’s a chance to take a nice Sunday drive.—Ethan Smith
