The worlds of Lydia Burrell his indie-rock band that deals in layers that mix oddball ambience and standard pop melodies, creating something that is both easily digestible and challenging and Howell Dawdy his solo hip-hop act that is heavily sarcastic and thoughtfully poignant will collide tonight at Zanzabar. Evil Dead The Musical The Alley Theater (Through Oct. 31) $20-$30; 8 p.m. You either love the Evil Dead franchise, with all of its hilarious, insanely gory antics, or you hate it. If you hate it, go get your head checked. If you love it, grab your complimentary raincoat and soak up some buckets of the blood spattered goodness at the Alley Theater. Highland Fall Flea Highland Community Campus Free; 12 p.m. You know that Flea Off Market you love so much in NuLu? Well, theyre expanding to another beloved neighborhood this weekend with their Highland Fall Flea. Positioned perfectly between the Highlands and Germantown, this Flea will feature more than 100 vendors, plenty of food trucks, local craft beer/seasonal cocktails and live music courtesy of 1200 and Maiden Radio. Pumpkin Carving Contest Garage Bar $4 per pumpkin; 11 a.m. Think you got what it takes to be the best at pumpkin carving? Well, head to the Garage Bar, where you can handle sharp objects in an effort to prove to your friends that you are the champion of vegetable mutilation. There will be two contests one for those under 13, one for those above and winners get a $50 gift card to Caufields Novelty.
