5th Annual Writers Block Festival Tim Faulkner Gallery Free; 8:30 a.m. For all you literary geeks out there, this is the event for you. The Louisville Literary Arts fifth annual writer-centric festival starts Friday with the InKY Reading Series at Bards Town and continues Saturday with a number of readings, panels and a print fair. And, at 8 p.m., the afterparty at Haymarket Whiskey Bar kicks off with a Literary Death Match.
Open Studio Weekend All Over Louisville $20; 10 a.m. Or maybe the written word doesnt do it for you quite like a good visual does. In that case, you should cough up the $20 and grab a pass for the Louisville Visual Arts Open Studio Weekend. One wristband gives you access to over 100 artist studios and a chance to check out some of the best visual arts Louisville has to offer. With so much to see and experience, its a good thing this event lasts until 5 p.m. on Saturday, and starts again at noon on Sunday.

Get Out Louisville 4 Year Anniversary Party Louiss The Ton Free; 4 p.m. Show some love for the event site Get Out Louisville and come celebrate with some live soul/funk music and delicious samples from Joella’s Hot Chicken, Louisville Cream, The Beer Syrup Company, Ballotin Whiskey and custom cookies and cupcakes from Annie May’s Sweet Cafe.
