Mag Bar Music Festival THURSDAY, JULY 18-21 
It’s year 3 for Mag Bar Music Fest and they’re ready to do this thing again! Four days of live music, multiple genres, and good times in the Magnoliadome. They’re planning on all ages so everyone gets a chance to enjoy these all these sets that’ll be performing under our roof. Tickets are $7-$50.
Kentucky Shakespeare Festival ALL MONTH Central Park | 8 p.m/. | Free Taking place in Old Louisville’s scenic Central Park, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival continues its decades-long tradition of providing free live-action performances of some of Shakespeare’s greatest works, with shows beginning nightly at 8pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive as early as 6pm to get a bite at local food trucks and to ensure seating is available. Guests are also welcome to bring their blankets and chairs, as well as dogs, as long as they are leashed. The 2024 season includes performances of Romeo & Juliet, The Comedy of Errors, and The Tempest.
Kusama: Infinity Mirror opens at Speed FRIDAY, JULY 12 Speed Art Museum | 2035 S. 3rd St. | speedmuseum.org The Speed Art Museum presents Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrored Room– LET’S SURVIVE FOREVER, one of the artist’s seminal immersive artworks that explores ideas of “self-obliteration” through repetition and play with space, light, color, and time. INFINITY MIRRORED ROOM — LET’S SURVIVE FOREVER (2017), which is on special loan from the Art Gallery of Ontario, envelops the visitor inside a large, mirrored space with stainless steel balls suspended from the ceiling and arranged on the floor. The reflective balls recall Kusama’s installation Narcissus Garden, which was first shown at the 1966 Venice Biennale. This presentation will mark the first time that a major Kusama artwork has ever been on view in Kentucky.
Lou City FC vs. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC FRIDAY, JULY 19 Lynn Family Stadium | 350 Adams St. | loucity.com | $20+ | 8 p.m. Louisville City is staying home this weekend. Taking on Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at 8:00 p.m. Most seats won’t cost more than $20, so you won’t have to break the bank to see this hometown squad suit up against Colorado. Louisville City FC is sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference at 12 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.
Water Lantern Festival SATURDAY, JULY 20 Waterfront Park Great Lawn | 231 E Witherspoon St. | waterlanternfestival.com | $28.33+ | 6 p.m. The Louisville waterfront’s Lantern Festival is a beautiful display of craft and light that illustrates Louisville’s inherent ability to create magical moments all year long. The festival is back once again to shine a light on the community while giving people something fun to see on Saturday night. Make sure to use “TWINKLE5” for a $5 discount if you plan to go.
Seven Samurai’s 70th Anniversary FRIDAY, JULY 19 Speed Cinema | 2035 S. 3rd St. | speedmuseum.org/cinema | 6:00 p.m. | $12 Originally released in 1954, Akira Kurosawa’s 207-minute masterpiece continues to be influential. Set in the Sengoku period, a time of civil war and social upheaval in Japan, the story follows the titular number of masterless warriors as they protect a village from being plundered by bandits. Its themes — the tenuous balance between justice and vengeance, and between individualism and community — have since been reimagined and referenced in films as varied as The Magnificent Seven, Star Wars, The Avengers, Rebel Moon, and even A Bug’s Life. Presented in a 4K DCP restoration.
NEEDTOBREATHE SATURDAY, JULY 20 Iroquois Amphitheater | $25+ | 7:30 p.m. GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum rock band NEEDTOBREATHE are playing at Louisville’s Iroquois Amphitheater this weekend. Currently touring in support of their acclaimed new album CAVES, they’ve been known to cross genres, but are doing so more than ever on this new album which features collabs with Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Judah & The Lion and Foy Vance.

Main Street Nelson County-based Log Still Distillery proudly announces the grand opening of its new fine dining restaurant and tasting room experience, Monks Road Boiler House, on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. The restaurant features a luxury chophouse-style menu curated by Chef Ciro Matteo Pirozzi, and highlights Monk’s Road Bourbons & Gins and Rattle & Snap Tennessee Whiskeys. The two-level venue offers fine dining cuisine on the upper tier and a speakeasy-style bar on the lower for tastings and curated bourbon experiences.
