Bob The Drag Queen, known for being the winner of Season 8 of Rupaul’s Drag Race, Season 3 of Traitors US, and the heartfelt show We’re Here, graced Louisville with her presence at the Louisville Comedy Club.

Bob stunned in 5 shows from May 22-24, with 2 new shows added due to high attendance. As a long time fan of both drag and Bob, I knew I had to catch a show while she was in town.

It is one thing to have funny blips on TV shows and another to stand up in front of an audience for an hour and consistently make them laugh, or at the very least, not be awkward about it. As I expected, Bob absolutely did not disappoint!

Personally, I love feeling a queer presence at a comedy show. Traditionally dominated by straight males, it was refreshing to see someone like Bob be up on that stage. She was able to make jokes about the queer experience and her own unique experiences in a way that simultaneously educated individuals and made them feel included and in on the joke. She called people out in a way that did not feel targeted, but more so in a lighthearted manner that was genuinely funny and made people giggle.

One of my favorite bits Bob did was explain to a “gold star gay” (you can look up what that means if you don’t know) what a C-Section entails. It was beautifully done in a way that provided a learning experience, all while still being enjoyable.

By the end of her time on stage, Bob made you feel like you knew her as well as you know a friend. Her wittiness paired with her personable qualities made for a truly entertaining show that left you wanting more. Bob proved once again that she is a star.

Next time Bob graces us with her presence, I recommend buying tickets to go see her. To see all of the fantastic shows the Louisville Comedy Club has to offer, you can check out their calendar and purchase tickets on their website at www.louisvillecomedy.com.
