With the opening of its largest facility to date in eastern Louisville, a burgeoning local pet care company is celebrating a significant milestone.

As it marks nine years in business, the Pet Station Country Club has formally opened a new 25,000-square-foot location at 14310 Old Henry Road. The new location is positioned as the most ambitious project to date by the locally owned business, which is well-known for its boarding, daycare, grooming, and training services.

At the center of the new facility is what the company describes as the region’s newest outdoor dog splash park. With 15 interactive elements, such as misting stations, fountains and soft water jets, the area is intended to give pets relief and enrichment during the warmer months. Additionally, the splash park has non-slip surfaces, contemporary filtration systems, and hygienic design features.

There are more than just water features at the new location. It has three 15,000-square-foot turf-covered play areas and a 3,500-square-foot indoor dog park with climate control and agility equipment for year-round use. Depending on the weather, dogs can move between indoor and outdoor areas, and a half-mile nature trail offers additional activities for both staff and pets.

Co-owner Rebecca Blackburn said the expansion reflects a deliberate effort to offer something different from larger national chains.

“We are intentionally building something different from the big national pet care chains,” said Rebecca Blackburn, co-owner of The Pet Station Country Club. “Our focus is on a higher level of service and a customized experience that puts each pet’s individual needs first.”
