Some of Louisville's best neighborhoods have one thing in common: kindness. Here are some of the nicest neighborhoods around the city. | Credit: Nextdoor

Some longtime Louisville residents may be surprised by the results of a new ranking that provides a data-driven look at where neighbors are most involved.

Old Louisville is ranked first on Nextdoor’s 2026 “Friendliest Places to Live” list, closely followed by Klondike and Bonnycastle. The rankings are not determined by editorial choices or opinion polls, in contrast to conventional “best neighborhood” roundups. Rather, they depend on quantifiable neighbor interactions within the platform.

The rankings, according to Nextdoor, show how frequently locals greet visitors, provide assistance, exchange recommendations, plan neighborhood events, and patronize surrounding companies. See where your neighborhood is ranked in the list of Nextdoor’s list of Louisville’s friendliest neighborhoods.
