Nami Modern Korean Steakhouse, located at 835 E. Main St., Suite 106, announced it will close its doors on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
“When we opened Nami Korean Steakhouse and Martin on Main, we were early activators in the 800 block of East Main Street and we are grateful the role that they have both played in helping bring energy and activity to the area,” said Nami and Martin on Main owner Earl Winebrenner. “This was an incredibly difficult decision to close Nami, but as we look to 2026, we hope to collaborate with proven operators who can help reimagine the space and continue the positive momentum on our block.”
Chef Edward Lee founded Nami in 2023, and it became well-known for its modern interpretation of Korean food. The eatery was named one of USA TODAY’s “2024 Restaurants of the Year” and featured in Esquire’s “50 Best New Restaurants of 2023.”
The shutdown comes in the midst of growing operational expenses, staffing issues and changing market conditions that made it challenging to carry out the idea of the restaurant, according to the owners in a press release.
“We want to sincerely thank our staff and the community for all their support and wonderful memories,” said co-owner Holly Winebrenner. “We believe deeply in the potential of this location and welcome conversations with those who feel the same.”
Hours until close on Wednesday:
- Monday–Saturday: 4:30–9:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m.–8 p.m., brunch 11 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
