Louisville’s newest BBQ hotspot, Back Deck Bar and Lounge, is officially opening its doors this Friday, December 13, at 6 p.m. Located at 1601 Story Avenue in the former Gold Bar space, this unique venue promises a fresh take on the city’s bar and lounge scene.

Back Deck Bar and Lounge combines mouthwatering BBQ, a relaxed atmosphere, and an energetic nightlife experience. Patrons can look forward to food, drinks, and live DJ performances Friday and Saturday nights, making it the ideal destination for a laid-back evening or a lively weekend vibe. The grand opening weekend marks the culmination of hard work and vision by the team behind the project.

Chan Nelson, the driving force behind the Back Deck, shared his excitement in a Facebook post earlier this week: “You’ve been watching. You’ve been waiting. And I’ve been working. You’ve seen it everywhere else. From everyone else. Now you get to hear it from me. This Friday it’s going down…The spot Louisville never knew they needed. A laid-back BBQ bar and lounge.”

Nelson emphasized the versatility of the space, describing it as a place to “watch sports, grab some quick food, but catch a vibe at the same time.” With two successful soft openings already under its belt, the Back Deck team is ready to “full throttle” the concept this weekend.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, and the celebration will continue each night until 2 a.m.
