FRIDAY

Night Climbing Jefferson Memorial Forest $15; 7 p.m. Deep in the Horine Section of Jefferson Memorial Forest is a 52-foot climbing tower that is a challenge during the day, but even more so at night. So for those of you with the confidence to tackle it, Jefferson Memorial Forest is offering night climbing for ages 10 and up. Make sure to wear sneakers, bring a head lamp and pre-register for the event.

SATURDAY

Beatersville Car & Bike Show (May 28–29) Tim Faulkner Gallery $10; Times vary Beatersville is what you wish every hot rod and bike show was. It starts Saturday with a massive hot-rod and bike cruise from Tim Faulkner Gallery to The Monkey Wrench, and then back to Tim Faulkner Gallery for live music and burlesque. Then on Sunday, in the historic warehouse district of 15th Street, the car show begins with contests, more live music and more burlesque.

SUNDAY

Boomtown Ball & Festival New Albany, Indiana Free; 1 p.m. New Albany doesn’t get as much Louisville love as  does Jeffersonville, but this week you can change all that by heading to the Boomtown Ball & Festival. There will be live music by Small Black, Knox Hamilton and Otis Junior & Dr. Dundiff, as well as plenty of local and regional vendors, thanks to a little help from our friends at Flea Off Market.

Drag Me To Brunch Zanzabar $30-$50; 11 a.m. It may be a three-day weekend, but that doesn’t mean you have to skip Sunday brunch. And this Sunday’s brunch at Zanzabar is not to be missed, since there will be live music and drag performances by the Derby City Sisters. Proceeds from this all you-can-eat brunch (complete with a cereal bar) go toward the Louisville Aids Walk, which raises money for AIDS awareness and research.

Amped Benefit Show Headliners 7 p.m.; $10-$15 Since this Sunday is basically another Saturday, enjoy your extra night off raising money for the Academy of Music Production, Education & Development (or AMPED) by buying a few drinks and enjoying some live music by acts including James Lindsey (formerly Jalin Roze), ChelleLynae, Sasha Renee and more. Also Dawn Gee is hosting, and who doesn’t love Dawn Gee?
