Art news Call for art: Kaviar Forge & Gallery is seeking art for its upcoming exhibition “Touched with Fire!” This show will be an exploration of the theme of mental health through visual artistic expression to be shown at Kaviar Gallery from May 19-Aug. 6. Deadline: April 7. Kaviar Gallery is closed until it relocates to Kaviar Forge (craigkaviargallery.com).

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is planning to hire an education coordinator. Deadline: March 9 (kmacmuseum.org).

NIMBUS communications and marketing agency, 624 W. Main St., has commissioned Atlanta artist Sage Guillory to do a mural in their offices. His work will feature local icons and landmarks as well as pay homage to the late Static Major, who was a close friend of NIMBUS founder and CEO Stacey Wade (hellonimbus.com).

Art events Morag Kersel, a field archaeologist who helps lead the Middle Eastern anthropology project called Follow the Pots, will lecture at UofL on Thursday, Feb. 25 about the looting of Early Bronze Age artifacts in Jordan. “The (W)Hole Picture: The Intersection of Pots, People and Planes” is at 5 p.m. in Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library. Free and open to the public (louisville.edu).
