With song titles like “Shut up and Ride,” you immediately know what you are in for with these Louisville speedsters. Dudes are all business, chugging away like a well-oiled heavy metal machine and growling with relish as they do it. Tracks like “Smut” get you pumping your fists before being drawn in by the mathematically precise “Powerbait,” hypnotic with its shape-shifting melodies. Turn your head and your back into the maelstrom with the muscular “Whiskey House,” a bit more playful but showing no sign of these guys coming up for air. While singer Dave Johnson’s vocals might be buried a bit too deep to hear, you still don’t care very much; one listen to the fiery energy on this record lets you know these guys are fine with letting their instruments do all the talking.
