Breakfast bands
Fans who packed into Club Oasis last weekend to see Long Island, N.Y., post-emo act Taking Back Sunday can find their signature dish at one of the country’s most well-known breakfast holes.
The popular (be honest) hangover HQ Denny’s now serves the “Taking Back Sunday Quesadilla,” according to dennysallnighter.com. Fansite tbsunion.com says the ’dilla is packed with melty cheese, chicken and sausage.
Next time you’re there, maybe ask for the following: Bad Blood Bacon, IamIs Omelet or perhaps The Photographic Frittata, with a side of T. McAfee Tea.

The Pretenders, who returned this year with an earlier studio set Break Up the Concrete, are releasing a digital holiday EP, which features a new recording of “2,000 Miles” and classics “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “Blue Christmas,” which also appears on Rock Band.
I’ll Stay ’Til After Christmas, a 15-song yuletide comp that came out Dec. 2, features several bands who have been to Louisville: Le Loup (opener for Andrew Bird at the Brown), My Brightest Diamond (past opener for The Decemberists) and No Kids (who played The Pour Haus with Casiotone for the Painfully Alone on Halloween).
