    The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is sponsoring a marketing and development workshop for mid-career artists on Saturday, Jan. 12. It’s $75 for non-members, $50 for members. Speakers: Arturo Sandoval, Lloyd Kelly, Rand Heazlitt and Craig Kaviar. Call 589-0102.

    Bernheim’s Visitor Center has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. It’s the highest level “green” building honor and the first Platinum rating award in Kentucky.

    Former Gov. Ernie Fletcher’s official portrait was painted by Louisvillian John Michael Carter. It’s now in the Hall of Governors at the Kentucky History Center in Frankfort.

    2008 art calendars: The Center Kentucky chapter of the American Institute of Architects has produced its latest “Louisville Architectural” calendar. The “Female Mechanics” calendar by photographer Sarah Lyon is available for $15 at ear X-tacy, BMW Motorcycles and other area locations as well as www.sarahlyon.com.

    New galleries: Tim Faulkner Gallery (815 E. Market St., second floor, 381-1314), specializes in month-long shows of local and regional artists (January: paintings by Erik Orr). The Rogues Gallery (2238 Grinstead Drive, 387-6838), features work by local underground artists.
