Germantown’s newest semi-upscale restaurant also has a late-night dance hall. Redbud Dining Room, which is also home to Redbud Dance Hall, opened to the public on Wednesday after a recent soft opening. (The dance hall opened last Friday.) The business replaces what was once Eiderdown, a German-American restaurant that closed in 2020.

The restaurant is semi-upscale — there are embossed menus and cloth napkins, but there’s also some eclectic decor. Tiger wallpaper lines the entryway; a few photos of Brutalist buildings dot the exposed brick walls.

The menu features small plates like lamb tartare and shrimp cocktail, as well as duck fat popcorn, a popular carryover from Eiderdown. Entrees include pork schnitzel and beef cheek au poivre.

The drink menu also includes cocktails named after the TV show “Futurama,” including “Viva Mars Vegas,” “300 Big Boys,” “Bite My Shiny Metal A**,” and “Drink Slurm.”

The restaurant can seat around 70 people.

Redbud owners Nate Sturdevant, Matt Filip, and Aaron Chadwell also own Toasty’s Tavern; Filip and Sturdevant own New Wave Burritos.

Redbud Dining Hall is located at 983 Goss Avenue and is open from 5-10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The dance hall is open Saturday and Sunday from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. You can make your Redbud reservations at this link.
