Walking in, I loved the heavy curtains to separate the entrance from the dining area, it really creates an experience as you walk in. The service was perfect, attentive but also relaxed enough for you to enjoy the ambiance. The cocktails were creative and delicious. The food was amazing! 15.Caffe Classico 2144 Frankfort Ave. ”Such a lovely restaurant. Great for a date night, or just a time to go and relax and enjoy company with a wonderful meal at this authentic European-style cafe. Best enjoyed if you’re not in a rush. The menu offers everything from coffee and gelato to wine and excellent entrees. Personal favorite food items are the Belgian Pomme Frittes (crispy and served with some aioli dipping sauces) and the Choripan sandwich. 14.Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill 3900 Summit Plaza Drive ”Stoney River Steakhouse offers an enjoyable ambience and is a classy upscale restaurant, perfect for date night. Will definitely want to make a reservation otherwise you will be waiting for quite a while on a Friday night. Servers were very professional and polite. Drinks were well crafted. My favorite was the Jackson Old Fashioned. The steak rolls were out of this world delicious. Will definitely be ordering again next time. We are always extremely satisfied with their food and drinks. Best shrimp and grits I have ever had, we’ve also tried the pork chop and their rendition of a hot brown,, amazing. 10.Bourbons Bistro 2255 Frankfort Ave. ”Iv been a few times over the years and I have to say it’s a great little date spot especially on the patio next to the fireplace on a nice evening. We sat near the fireplace and had a nice glass of wine and started with a spectacular appetizer of Prince Edward Island mussels which were extraordinarily plump and a must try. Not smothered yet completely attended to. The atmosphere is intimate, romantic, down to earth, and classy. I felt pampered and well fed. 7.Wiltshire on Market 636 E. Market St. 2024 UPDATE: This location is now closed, but their Baxter cafe remains open.”In my opinion, the best restaurant in the city. Menu is constantly changing and always unique. I am always challenged (in a good way) with new spices, vegetables, etc. that are rarely seen on other menus and are responsive to local availability of meats and produce. 4. Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse 325 W. Main St. ”Jeff Ruby’s makes the best Lemon Drop and creamy mashed potatoes in Louisville. First off it you plan on going make sure you make reservations. They book up very fast, so call in advance. The bar is open to first come first serve. It is an upscale restaurant, so the prices are high but it’s worth it. 3.Jack Fry’s 1007 Bardstown Road ”Finally made it to Jack Fry’s after living in Louisville for forever and never trying this staple restaurant. It was perfectly intimate with the low lighting and comfy booths. My husband and I came here for our anniversary on a Tuesday evening and I was surprised by how busy it was. We started with cocktails and the squid appetizer. For our main courses we had the pork chop and the summer pasta (I added the salmon on top). Everything was delicious!”- Olivia P. 1.Buck’s Restaurant 425 W. Ormbsy Ave. ”The ambiance is beautiful, charming and refined. Paired with the exquisite piano playing from Reggie, makes Buck’s very imposing. Definitely the place to go when you want to impress that special person in your life.
