The Dartmouth-Willow Terrace condominiums are some of the most recognizable buildings in The Highlands from the outside, but their insides are not so well known.

They were built in the 1920s near Cherokee Park, according to the buildings’ website. Although now they only contain condominiums and typical condo features, that hasn’t always been the case: Willow Terrace used to be home to a beauty shop open to residents and the public alike. There were also rooms for servants and a cedar-lined vault in the Dartmouth to hold furs. “Dining rooms in both buildings had foot pedals which the host or hostess could press to request service from the kitchen,” reads the website.

Here’s a look at a penthouse unit in the Dartmouth, for sale for $1.1 million.

The space has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one half-bath. The property comes with gym access, one parking space and secured entry.
