Louisville’s bakery scene just got a whole lot sweeter with five new spots opening up around town.

These fresh additions are serving up everything from classic pastries to over-the-top desserts, each bringing something unique to the table.

Whether you’re in the mood for a flaky croissant or a donut with your morning coffee, there’s a new bakery waiting to become your next go-to.

Here’s a look at all the latest places you’ll want to check out ASAP.

Bamboo Coffee & Donuts 2400 Lime Kiln Ln Featuring fair trade organic coffee and hand-crafted donuts, Bamboo Coffee & Donuts opened this past year on Lime Kilm Lane. This new shop offers some of your favorite items with a fun twist. Try their lattes with coconut washed cold brew or black sesame and vanilla. As for the donuts, get ready for thick cake donuts with flavorful frosting! For something unique, try the Vietnamese Egg Coffee!
Baked AF 1008 Goss Ave. Got a sweet tooth? Baked AF has you covered! This new bakery in Germantown is now open next to Breakfast + Pizza AF. They offer an array of goodies including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies, plus made-to-order donuts. Their homemade ice cream comes in classic flavors like chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, with seasonal options like maple, coffee toffee, and cinnamon toast, perfect for shakes, floats, and sundaes.
La Patisserie Française 1355 Bardstown Road Patisserie Francaise is the latest addition to Louisville’s pastry scene, now open on Bardstown Road. Owned by Charles Reed—who previously ran Henry’s Place, Melba’s Culinary Canvas, and Cates Candies Inc. in Colorado—this new bakery will offer a delectable selection of pastries, cakes, croissants, and more. You can look forward to enjoying cakes, danishes, breads, chocolates, macarons, French lollipops, and gelato. The shop’s bright and playful interior features vibrant greens, pinks, and purples, highlighted by a large decorative ice cream cone behind the counter, setting the stage for a sweet visit.
Crust & Crumb 6301 Meeting St Unit 101, Prospect Pimento Cheese Babka Knots. Pastelito Croissant. Double Chocolate Orange Cookie. Ministrone soup. Maple latte. These are a few of the new menu additions you’ll find at the new Prospect bakery this month. The artisan bakery, owned by Debi Hatton, offers a wide variety of breads, pastries, sweets and more.
Oddbird Bakery 1021 Bardstown Road Quills Coffee is expanding its reach with Oddbird Bakery, taking over the old Steel City Pops spot on Bardstown Road. While the official opening date is still under wraps, Oddbird promises to bring a range of tasty baked goods, including croissants, pain au chocolat, and muffins. Originally slated for a Summer 2024 opening, we’re still patiently awaiting the day this yummy new project opens its doors!
