On Sunday, June 1, the Animal Protection Association (APA) will stage its most charming annual event—the Itty Bitty Kitty Shower.
From 2 to 5 p.m. at APA’s Shelter (3808 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN), people can experience the once-a-year opportunity to view all of APA’s kittens grouped together in one spot. This adorable event isn’t just about cuddles—it’s an important fundraiser to assist APA in caring for cats and kittens throughout the year.
Kitten season is here, and with it comes skyrocketing costs. Last year, APA took in 50 cats and 133 kittens and found homes for 181 felines. With veterinary treatment costing roughly $180 per kitten—not counting food, litter and supplies—the group relies significantly on community donations. The $80 adoption fee only covers a portion of the total cost.
APA is using the Itty Bitty Kitty Shower to collect funds, recruit experienced fosters, and raise awareness about the ongoing needs of kittens and adult cats—especially those with special needs.
Guests who bring supply donations will be treated to cake and hot dogs as a thank-you. There will also be raffle prizes, a chance to meet APA’s amazing felines and an opportunity to learn about fostering or volunteering.
If you can’t attend in person, you can still support APA’s efforts with an online gift at www.apa-pets.org.
Come for the cuddling, stay for the cause. Invite your friends, bring a supply donation, and help APA make kitten season 2025 a success.
