Plunder Over Louisville
Mag Bar | 1398 S. 2nd St. | magbarlouisville.com | $15 | 5:30 p.m. | All Ages
After taking 2024 off, one of Louisville’s best local music festivals is back and better than ever! Presented by the awesome folks at Never Nervous, Plunder Over Louisville once again takes over Mag Bar for the day with local vendors, raffles, games, and seven of Louisville’s best bands! What initially started as a punk/metal/hardcore festival back in 2022 has grown to incorporate several other genres, and this year’s festival is a banger! Check out the Spotify playlist and take a look at the lineup and set times below.
Tall Squares (5:30 – 6:00 p.m.)
Self-proclaimed “Slacker rock” band that has been going strong for over a decade now. Featuring Adam Crowhorn (guitar and vocals), Grant Lewis (bass), Brian Burchett (guitar), and James Ryan Bohr (drums).
Live Knives (6:15 – 6:45 p.m.)
Fairly new punk rock & roll band featuring several familiar faces: Tony Ash (Coliseum), multimedia artist Yoko Molotov, Brian Gray (Wiirmz), Chase Coryell (Hot Wires), and Toby Van Kleeck (Graffiti).
Virgin Birth (7:00 – 7:30 p.m.)
Industrial synth punk band made up of 2/4th of the members of the horror punk/metal band Prayer Line, although the two sound absolutely nothing alike. Featuring Phillip Olympia (who also runs Never Nervous Records and put this festival together), and Jake Miller.

Howell Dawdy (7:45 – 8:15 p.m.)
Musician, comedian, now-former host of The Big Howell & Possum Radio Hour on 91.9 WFPK, (they just broadcast the final episode on May 5th), current host of the Howell Dawdy’s Fast Track podcast, and Twitch streamer. If you haven’t heard his track “Louisville” yet, you owe it to yourself!
Shark Sandwich (8:30 – 9:00 p.m.)
Unlike the fictional Spinal Tap album mentioned in the movie This Is Spinal Tap, this Shark Sandwich is far from a “Shit Sandwich,” they’re grimy goblin shark punk that’ll rock your cock off! Featuring: Raven (vocals), Joon (guitar), Tallulah (bass), and Johnny (drums).
Strong Style (9:15 – 9:45 p.m.)
High-energy dance punk. Made up of Jake Hellman (Prayer Line), Nick Roots, Paul Chenault (Control I’m Here), Josh Mumford (Draped in Black), Austin Hellman (ex-Prayer Line). Strong Style keeps the party alive with relentless energy and attitude.
Pravus Warlord (10:00 – 10:30 p.m.)
Hardcore punk bordering on metalcore at times. I don’t know anything about this band. I can’t find anything about their background, who the band members are, how long they’ve been around, nothing. What I can tell you for certain is that they put on a hell of an energetic, action-packed show!
Bad Wires (10:45 – 11:15)
“A mix of metal, punk, thrash, noise rock, hardcore and post-hardcore, Bad Wires really create their own genre here, then proceed to beat you over the head with it.” – Me in my Favorite Local Songs of 2024 review of their track “Kaleidoscope Eyes”. Featuring former members of bands featuring former members of the Melvins, as well as former members of MegaZilla, Bellringer, and current members of Stage Coach Inferno.
Vendors on hand include Never Nervous Records, Master Kontrol Recordings, Stitches & Chains, and more to be confirmed.
