Woman

Rhye
UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC
So warm and inviting, if it were a blanket, you’d curl up in its bare vocals and sensuous rhythm. While sleep may be the last thing your mind wanders to while rubbing your legs across the sheets of satiny strings and massaging bass, you’ll know this may be the sexiest album your ears will come across all year. Imagine a Neil Tennant-fronted Sade, if you want the snapshot sound. But it’s best to let this linger — no matter the setting you choose to listen to Woman, the lights invariably dim, the din of other people’s nonsense blurs out of focus, and you’re left to wonder at the response to invitational texts the escapades you can’t help but desire after few notes have played. Think of this as the “Choose Your Own Adventure” version of grey shading.
