Where To Watch The Solar Eclipse In Louisville This Monday

Louisville will experience 99% coverage of the April 8 total solar eclipse.

A total solar eclipse is on its way! On Monday, April 8, you'll have a chance to witness a historic event that won't happen again in the US until 2044.

With areas of Kentucky and Indiana in the path of totality, Louisville will experience 99% coverage so even if you're not heading out of town, there will still be an amazing site to see! (But if you do feel like making a short roadtrip for that extra percentage, see why Bloomington is the perfect spot.)

The eclipse will begin at 1:49 p.m. with max coverage expected at 3:07 p.m. and ends at 4:22 p.m.

Waterfront Park Viewing Party

Big Four Lawn | 12-4 p.m.
Make your way to Waterfront Park’s Big Four Lawn for a solar eclipse watch party featuring activities, food and drink concessions and music! Don’t forget to grab your eclipse glasses, generously provided by kynect, for a safe and stunning view of the celestial spectacle.

Iroquois Park's Total Eclipse of the Park

2120 Rundill Rd. | 1-4 p.m.
The Olmstead Parks Conservancy and Louisville Parks and Recreation are hosting a watch party at Iroquois Park's Summit Field and North Overlook. You can find the entry gateat Rundill and Uppill roads. It’ll be open from 1-4 p.m. The first 300 guests get free eclipse glasses!

727 W. Main St. | 1-4:30 p.m.
Head to the Kentucky Science Center for a viewing event included with the purchase of a general admission ticket and enjoy special programming throughout the galleries.

Against The Grain Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

401 E. Main St. | 12 p.m.
For a fantastic patio watch party, grab a blanket and lawn chair, and join the ATG team from noon until the sun returns. They’ll be passing out free NASA-approved solar eclipse viewing glasses while supplies last, whipping up special eclipse-themed cocktails, and setting up some totality patio games.
