Monday

A Beer Event Against the Grain Brewery Free; 12 p.m. Pop into Against the Grain Brewery on Memorial Day for A Beer Event. Barbecue sandwiches, sausages, baked beans and homemade chips will be available. Extra American Pale Ale will be flowing the whole day. But if that isn’t enough to lure you in, DJ Clay Baker will be in attendance to entertain as you attempt to conquer cornhole, among other outdoor games.

Kentucky Flea Market Kentucky Expo Center Free; 10 a.m. Head on over to the Kentucky Flea Market to find a new bargain or just to see some neat trinkets. Vendors will be selling clothing, antiques and jewelry, as well as unique items. Parking is $8, but you can get $4 back with any purchase.

Tuesday

$2 margaritas, $2 beer & $2 burgers Monkey Wrench Under $5; 4 p.m. Every Tuesday, The Monkey Wrench hosts a night of deals, and this week is no different. Head over to its rooftop bar and ring in hump day with $2 margaritas, beers and burgers.

Wednesday

Hellbound Chili Night Haymarket 331 E. Market St. Free; 7 p.m. Who doesn’t love free food? Come out, eat chili and celebrate being over halfway through the week. Plus, there will be a $5 rotating cast of beer and specials on shots.

J.R. Bohannon, Cat Casual & The Holy Midnight and more Modern Cult Records $5; 8 p.m. Get your live music fix at Modern Cult Records this week. There will be performances by J.R. Bohannon, Gabriel Birnbaum, Cat Casual & The Holy Midnight and Brandon Butler. All ages are welcome to come out and hear these four unique acts. The first show starts at 8, but doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Mayor’s Music & Art Series Metro Hall (Mayor's Listening Gallery) Free; 11:30 a.m. Looking to hear some local talent? Head over to the Mayor’s Gallery Listening Room to check out this month’s local spotlight, Cher Von, in the Mayor’s Music & Art Series. The performance will begin at 12:10 p.m., and doors will open at 11:30. Heads up: The event is first come, first serve. Zack Stefanski, The Big Quiet and more New Vintage $5; 9 p.m. For five bucks you can head over to The New Vintage and check out some artists you may not have heard of before. Grab a brewski, relax, and check out Zack Stefanski, Don Tigra and the Big Quiet. I Have a Knife, Boner City and more Kaiju $5; 9 p.m. Want some more live music? Well, come out to Kaiju and watch Boner City kick off its tour with the help of I Have A Knife, Blood Planet and Bungalow Betty. The event is 21 and older. Monty Pint-Thon Night Floyd County Brewing Company Free; 6 p.m. Love craft beer? Love “Monty Python”? You’re in luck. Come decked out in your favorite “Monty Python” costume, drink beer and play trivia all while watching “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” on the big screen. Plus, Against The Grain Brewery is helping out at the event, so there will be a few extra beers on tap.

Rat Ship, RHIN, Day Creeper and Blind Scryer play Friday evening to fulfill your head-banging urges. Doors open at 7:30, and music starts at 8. All ages are welcome.
