Readers’ Choice 2020 Ballot

THE RULES:

There are just a few instructions. Please read and heed.
1. Cast at least 30 votes for your ballot to count.
2. Only one ballot per person is allowed.
3. Name, phone number and email address are required.
4. Voting closes 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13

Let us be clearer!

There has been confusion about the guidelines and spirit of the LEO Readers’ Choice Awards. This was our fault for not being clear enough about the voting process and who is eligible to win… so we want to remedy that.

First, the awards are meant to celebrate what the LEO community chooses as the best in our readership area. That means that the winners must be local, and, yes... that includes Southern Indiana. So no votes will be counted for the Museum of Modern Art or the Mütter Museum as “Best Museum (Not a Gallery).”

And just so you know, we have a process to make sure no one can stack the votes by voting more than once. We also will not allow anyone, or any business, to win a category for which they are not eligible. For instance, a blogger cannot win "Best Barbershop."

Most important, votes will not be counted for any individual, business or organization that espouses racist, sexist or violent messages or beliefs. LEO is not a platform for those views.

We do our best to be fair, fun and transparent in allowing you — our readers — to hand out the awards, and we are always looking for ways to improve. While we may not be perfect, at least we’re better than the Electoral College.
