The Loved, redux
Temporary Residence Limited, the label owned and operated by Louisville native Jeremy DeVine, is releasing The Loved’s Everything, Anything, Nothing.
Formed in 1996, The Loved — Michael Weis, Benny Clarke and (LEO Weekly theater critic) Joey Yates — recorded a batch of material with former Rodan drummer and engineer Kevin Coultas. The band played a few dates here and two out-of-town shows, including one in Chattanooga opening for Foreign Film Stars, which would come to be known as VHS or Beta.
Listening to the record is “like looking at an old photo album,” Clarke said. Although the trio jammed together last year, there are no plans for a show.
Thunderdome returns
The Brewery Thunderdome (426 Baxter Ave.) reopens June 28.
The club, which hosted The Foo Fighters, Endpoint’s final show in 1994 and Initial Records’ first Krazy Fest in 1998, will be a 650-capacity venue. Nick Sexton, who, along with 93.1 The Fox’s Louie The Local Guy has been contracted to book the venue, said it will be geared toward rock bands, and the capacity will stay at 650. Depending on how successful the venue is, they might open the building to its full capacity of 2,500 people. Saturday’s lineup is Primer55, Heaven Hill, Surviving Thalia, Embertide, Strip Mind and Redline. Doors for the 18-and-over show open at 6 p.m., and the cost is $10.

Paste Magazine named ear X-tacy Records (1534 Bardstown Road, 452-1799) one of the 17 coolest record stores in America. In a statement, Editor Josh Jackson said, “The resources on the Internet are supplements to actual record stores, not replacements. Fortunately, despite the increasing pressures from illegal downloads and online music stores, many independent record stores have found clever ways to fight back against the electronic tide that was supposed to have run them out of business years ago.”
