Air Chrysalis, Yellow Cellophane, Broad Arrow  The Whirling Tiger 8 p.m. |  $10 After a lengthy pandemic hibernation, it’s nice to see the local music scene springing with so much life again, and this show is a great example. Air Chrysalis’ swirling, experimental dream pop lands wave after wave of subtle emotional impact throughout the morphing, but sturdy songs. Through direct bedroom pop, Yellow Cellophane creates impressively earnest music that dives into the moments most of us hide. An alt-country-leaning singer-songwriter, Broad Arrow is one of those musicians carefully bringing roots into the modern era.

Saturday, April 30

Black Pistol Fire Zanzabar $20  |  7 p.m. Rooted in blues, on the outskirts of garage punk and not afraid of being pop adjacent, Black Pistol Fire is an intense and ambitious rock band.

NRBQ Headliners $20  |  8 p.m.  A legendary band well-versed in the launching points of rock and roll, NRBQ deals in classic pop rock, but has been versatile through a long and winding career.
