This Prospect Mansion, Once The Most Expensive Home For Sale In Louisville, Features A Mile-Long, Olmsted-Designed Driveway

To get to this $2.9 million Prospect mansion, you must travel a mile-long, tree-lined driveway designed by the famous Olmsted Brothers, the sons of the man responsible for Cherokee Park.

This 116-year-old Tudor Home used to be Louisville’s most expensive home for sale. That was back in 2016, when the five-bedroom, seven-bath house was listed for $16 million. At the time, it came with over 150 acres worth of land. Now, parceled down to 10 acres, it’s available for considerably less.

Inside, the house features lots of wood-paneling, including in its billiards lounge and library. It also boasts two creative children rooms that evoke “Extreme Home Makeover,” with shades of Toy Story and jungle.

The home is currently owned by McMahan Farm LLC, which is operated by Roy McMahan III, who comes from a line of Louisville property developers.
