WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

Bourbon Land Party with Edward Lee

Join ShopBar and Edward Lee as he celebrates the release of his new book Bourbon Land. The event will pay homage to Lee’s “Spirited Love Letter To My Old Kentucky Whiskey.” Tickets include a copy of the new book, a charcuterie board and dip made by Lee, and two specialty cocktails. There will a book signing and Lee will be spending time after bartending.

Punk Rock Night Louisville presents: Indignant Few, Remote Control, Terminus Victor, and Punk Rock Karaoke

Although an all-ages show, the over-40 crowd rules this night of old-school punk rock as Louisville snot-punk legends Indignant Few play not only their first show of 2024, but also make their debut as a 5-piece band. Sharing the bill are Indianapolis’ Ramones-style punk rockers The Remote Controls, (check out their catchy-as-fuck anti-Trump song “Shit Outta Luck”), and the post-punk, alt-rock with a dash of shoegaze heaviness of Champagne, IL’s Terminus Victor. Then get up on stage yourself, grab the mic and perform your favorite punk tunes as live band Punk Rock Karaoke closes out the night.

The Korean Wave makes yet another stop in Louisville when rapper Bang Yongguk brings his latest “III” tour to town. Bang was formerly a member of music group B.A.P. Fans of Bang’s work can expect a great show, and from the tour image, a bit of drama. After the show a meet and greet event will be held for ticket buyers.

Katt Williams: The Dark Matter Tour

Saturday’s lineup: Anemic Royalty, Shitfire, Deady, L.I.P.S., Shrudd, Mr. Clit & The Pink Cigarettes, Deep Above, Chaz Owens’ Echo Project, and Plastics. KMAC Couture is a wearable art runway show presented as the signature fundraiser for KMAC that provides funding for the Museum’s education programs and exhibits. KMAC Couture launched in 2013 as a distinct fashion event that allowed KMAC to showcase its unique position as a contemporary art museum that celebrates ideas at the crossroads of art, craft, and design. In recognition of the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby in 2024, the 12th edition of KMAC Couture will honor one of Louisville’s most famous institutions and most notable traditions through the 2024 Theme: Runway for the Roses!

Racing Louisville v. San Diego Wave

It’s opening night at home for Louisville’s premier women’s soccer team on Saturday. Racing Louisville FC finished with the ninth best record (6-9-7) in its third year in the National Women’s Soccer League. The club takes on the San Diego Wave FC, a team that successfully managed the best record in the league last year (11-7-4) including Alex Morgan, the forward most notable for her tenure with the American professional team on the world stage.

Louisville Taco Week

Louisville’s a town that loves a taco and during Taco Week, participating restaurants offer specialty tacos for $2.50. Some restaurants will offer up to three different taco options. TUESDAY, APRIL 16

Louisville Cardinals Baseball v. Kentucky Wildcats

The in-state rivalry is back between two heavy hitters (no pun intended) as Louisville takes on the juggernaut Kentucky baseball program. The rivals had to postpone its last matchup on April 3 after the game was rained out. The Cardinals return back home to play in (hopefully) clear weather against a Kentucky program that has run through the SEC with relative ease.

THURSDAY, APRIL 18

Eat, Drink, Germantown

The Greater Germantown Business Association presents the inaugural Eat Drink Germantown culinary showcase celebrating the best of Germantown's culinary scene and business community. Enjoy food samples from multiple Germantown-area vendors, including Canary Club, Awry Brewing, Merryweather, Monnik Beer Co., Bean Coffee, Perso, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to indulge in a selection of Germantown-made beers and cocktails. The event will also feature "The Germantown" cocktail competition presented by Campari. Beginning April 8th, participating vendors will create unique cocktails that customers can vote on as best representing the Germantown neighborhood. The winning cocktail will be announced at Eat Drink Germantown on April 18th and served to attendees.

Thunder Over Louisville
Derby season wouldn’t be the same without its kickoff, the gigantic fireworks spectacle that is Thunder Over Louisville, which will return for its 34th year. In honor of the 150th Kentucky Derby, the 2024 theme for Thunder Over Louisville is "Celebrating Derby 150.”

Kroger's Fest-A-Ville

Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront will return for its 18th year in 2024. Sponsored by Kroger, the party starts on the Great Lawn and runs through Derby Eve. It promises to have something for everyone – and admission is free with a 2024 Pegasus Pin. The 900,000-square-foot venue will host several Festival events, including the L&N Federal Credit Union Great Balloon Glow, Chow Wagon, Ohio Valley Wrestling Run for the Ropes, HappyTail Hour, Ken-Ducky Derby and more. Fest-a-Ville also offers a wide variety of activities for children, featuring midway-area and attractions at Pegasus Play-Ville Presented by Norton Children’s, including merry-go-round, ships ahoy, a giant slide and much more.

ALICE IN DERBYLAND!

A drag show about Derby? Count us in. Join Alice as she arrives in Derbyland just in time for the first Saturday in May. With the help of the Mad Milliner, the Fascinate-Hare and the Churchill Rabbit, the princess faces off against the evil Delta Queen and the Seersucker Cat. Catch one of two performances at Art Sanctuary on the 19th and 21st.

The Pegasus Parade
3 p.m. | West on Broadway from Campbell to 9th St.
The 2024 Zoeller Pump Company Pegasus Parade returns to Broadway in Downtown Louisville on Sunday, April 28. This family-friendly annual event showcases some of the nation’s finest marching bands and equestrian units, along with inflatable characters and colorful floats. The 2024 theme is “Celebrating Derby 150” in honor of the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. The parade marches west on Broadway for 17 blocks and lasts approximately two hours.
