Throwing masterful melodies into a mixture of alt-country and art-rock, Cincinnati’s Wussy makes songs that are worn down and gritty, but somehow simultaneously shiny and intrinsically mesmerizing. With parallels to both The Drive-By Truckers and The Velvet Underground, there are a lot of layers to what they do, but like both of those aforementioned bands they consistently turn in heavy-hitting phrases that kind of make you stop for a second, and replay what was just sung in your head. The Fervor and Frederick The Younger open.
