WonderFest is a celebration of movie special effects, more specifically, sci-fi, horror and comic book-related effects. The festival boasts of having the largest model contest in America, as well as how-to workshops for practical and digital special effects, costume and prop contests, and panels that include guests Michael Possert Jr. (stop-motion fabricator and special effects modelmaker), Sybil Danning (actress from “Battle Beyond The Stars,” “Howling II” and “Grindhouse”) John Amplas (actor from “Martin,” “Dawn Of The Dead” and “Creepshow”) and Michael Copon, aka the Blue Power Ranger.
