The first Waterfront Wednesday of the season last week was surreal — thousands of people watching Houndmouth on the Big Four Lawn was both jarring and joyous, a weird and welcome scene after a pandemic that crushed gatherings. Since this year’s season of Waterfront Wednesday was delayed until the middle of summer, the events are scheduled a little closer together, and this time you can catch the neo-traditional country of The Mavericks (9 p.m.), the soulful Americana of Magnolia Boulevard (7:30 p.m.) and the vintage rock and roll of McKinley James (6 p.m.). Hopefully the beer lines will be shorter this time.
