‘We Are Kentuckians’

From stopping mountain top removal to increasing minimum wage, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth support social and environmental justice projects. Each year, at “We Are Kentuckians: Celebrating Our Common Heritage,” they share arts, culture, food and a vision for a bright future for Kentucky — and isn’t that a welcome vision these days? The public is invited with a suggested donation of $10-$20 to help promote that vision. This year’s event celebrates black women in Kentucky with music by Committed Choir, Cynthia Fletcher and DJ Alli; dancers Dionne Griffiths and Cynthia Brown; poets Hannah Drake and Robin Robinson; and storytellers Kristen Williams, Taylor Little and Andrea Massey. There’ll be lots of food from Dasha Barbour’s Southern Bistro and Louisville Vegan Kitchen.
